Svengali

Svengali is a comedy about Dixie, a music enthusiast and postman from a small town in South Wales. Driven by a lifelong dream of discovering a great musical act, he finds a young and confident group called The Premature Congratulations while searching on YouTube. Despite his lack of professional experience, Dixie convinces the band to let him act as their manager. He travels to London to promote the group, spending his time walking the streets with a cassette of their demo tape in hopes of securing a recording contract.

The film was directed by John Hardwick and written by Jonny Owen. The cast features Martin Freeman as Don, Vicky McClure as Shell, and Maxine Peake as Angie, alongside Michael Socha and Michael Smiley. Produced by Root Films, the production involved Victoria Barrell, Jonny Owen, and Martin Root.
