Jersey Boys

Jersey Boys tells the story of four young men from New Jersey who come together in the 1960s to form The Four Seasons. Frankie Valli, a singer with an unusually high, powerful voice, joins Tommy DeVito, Nick Massi and songwriter Bob Gaudio, and the group works its way from local performances to a string of hit records. Their success brings them into contact with figures from the music business and with organized crime, while the friendships at the core of the band are strained by money, ambition and personal conflict. The film is based on the stage musical of the same name.

Clint Eastwood directed, and the screenplay was written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, who also wrote the musical's book, with Eastwood producing alongside Robert Lorenz and Graham King. John Lloyd Young, who originated the role on stage, plays Valli, and the cast includes Vincent Piazza, Michael Lomenda, Erich Bergen, Christopher Walken and Mike Doyle across 73 credited roles. The film was released in 2014.

It is the thirty-fourth of the forty features Eastwood has directed, following American Sniper and preceding Sully. Made for a budget of 40 million dollars, it earned 67 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.8 out of 10 from over 36,000 votes, and on TMDB it also sits at 6.8, from far fewer votes, while the critics' rating stands at 5.9 from 224 reviews, a little below the audience scores.
