Set over a single day at an Australian high school, 2:37 follows six students whose lives and personal struggles intersect as the hours pass. The story moves back and forth in time, tracing each of them from morning arrival through classes, friendships and pressures, while a tragedy is discovered in a locked room at exactly 2:37. The film presents the same day from several perspectives, so the audience gradually learns what each student is dealing with and how their paths connect.

Murali K. Thalluri directed and wrote the film, which was released in 2006. It was his first feature, made on a budget of about one million US dollars, and it features a young ensemble led by Teresa Palmer as Melody, Frank Sweet as Marcus, Sam Harris as Luke, Charles Baird as Steven, Joel Mackenzie as Sean and Marni Spillane as Sarah.

Audience response has been generally positive: on IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.8 from around 7,600 votes, while on TMDB it has a 6.6 from roughly 150 votes. A smaller set of critics' reviews gives it 5.8, placing critical opinion a little below the audience scores.
