Short description
Nick Randall is a Los Angeles-based bounty hunter and an ex-CIA operative who is asked by a former co-worker to help track down terrorist Malak Al Rahim. However, Malak Al Rahim is also looking for Randall, forcing a showdown on the waterfront.
What's left behind the scenes
- According to director and screenwriter Gary Sherman, other actors—including James Caan and Mel Gibson (who was virtually unknown outside of Australia at the time)—were considered for the role of Nick Randall, which was eventually played by Rutger Hauer. The producers settled on Hauer because his agent agreed to a lower fee than what was typically paid to a lead actor at the time. Hiring Caan or Gibson would have cost twice as much.
- Hauer's character, Nick Randall, is a descendant of Josh Randall, the protagonist of the television series "Wanted Dead or Alive," played by Steve McQueen.
