Unfinished Business

Dan Trunkman has left his job to start his own small company, and after about a year it consists of little more than himself and two employees. To keep it alive, the three travel to Europe to try to land the deal that will decide whether the business survives. The trip quickly goes wrong in ways none of them expected, and a tough colleague keeps the pressure on Dan as the stakes rise.

Unfinished Business is a 2015 comedy directed by Canadian filmmaker Ken Scott, his third feature after Starbuck and Delivery Man, both of which he also made with Vince Vaughn. Steven Conrad wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes Vince Vaughn as Dan, Dave Franco as Mike Pancake, Tom Wilkinson as Timothy McWinters, Sienna Miller as Chuck Portnoy, James Marsden and June Diane Raphael.

Released in March 2015, the film is a German-American co-production from 20th Century Fox, Studio Babelsberg and Regency Enterprises, running 91 minutes. Made on a budget of about 35 million US dollars, it took in roughly 14 million worldwide, well short of its cost. Audiences are unenthusiastic: it scores 5.4 out of 10 on IMDb from around 37,000 votes, with the same average on TMDB from far fewer votes. A critics' rating of 3.6 out of 10 from about 100 reviews suggests reviewers were harsher still than general viewers.
