Rob the Mob

Tommy and Rosie are a young couple from Queens, New York, deeply in love and short on money. Dreaming of paying for a wedding, they hit on an unusual scheme: instead of banks, they rob the social clubs where the city's mobsters gather, betting that the Mafia would rather absorb the losses than call the police. For a while the plan works, and the pair make off with cash and valuables while the men they rob can hardly believe who is taking their money. Their luck changes when they stumble onto something far more valuable than they expected, and the Mob and the FBI both start hunting them.

Raymond De Felitta directed the film, his fourth feature after Cafe Society, The Thing About My Folks and City Island. Jonathan Fernandez wrote the screenplay, and William Teitler produced. Michael Pitt and Nina Arianda play Tommy and Rosie, with Andy Garcia as mob boss Big Al, Ray Romano as the reporter Jerry Cardoza, Griffin Dunne as Dave Lovell and Michael Rispoli as Sal, among a credited cast of thirty.

The film runs 104 minutes and was released in March 2014. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.1 out of 10 from 265 votes, a modest score suggesting a mixed response from those who have seen it.
