Sharknado 2: The Second One

Fin Shepard and April Wexler travel to New York, where April's injuries land her in a hospital and a storm system lifts sharks out of the ocean and drops them over the city. With the creatures raining down on landmarks and residents alike, Fin sets out to rescue the people he cares about and to fight back against the tornadoes carrying them. Ian Ziering and Tara Reid return in the lead roles, joined by Vivica A. Fox as Skye, a figure from Fin's past, along with Judd Hirsch, Courtney Baxter and Kari Wuhrer among a credited cast of forty-seven.

Anthony C. Ferrante directed the film, the third of fourteen he has made in chronological order and the middle entry of a trilogy that follows Sharknado and precedes Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! Thunder Levin wrote the screenplay and David Michael Latt produced for The Asylum and Syfy. Running ninety-five minutes, the television movie is a science fiction thriller set in the United States.

Audience response was modest: on IMDb it holds 4 out of 10 from roughly twenty-two thousand votes, and on TMDB it sits at 4.6 out of 10 from about seven hundred. A film critics' rating of 4.8 out of 10 from thirty-one reviews places it slightly above both audience measures.
