From Vegas to Macau

Ken, a former security consultant and gambling legend once known as the Invincible Hand, has retired from a career in Las Vegas and returned to his home city of Macau. There he reconnects with an old friend, Benz, and meets Benz's son Cool and Cool's associate Karl, two small-time swindlers who want Ken to take Cool on as a pupil. Ken sets Cool a challenge before agreeing to anything, while a criminal network is working to control international football results and fix the betting around them. Evidence of that scheme reaches Ken's daughter Rainbow, drawing her into danger.

Wong Jing directed and wrote the film, which is the twenty-seventh of the thirty-seven features he has directed, following On His Majesty's Secret Service and preceding From Vegas to Macau II. Andrew Lau Wai-Keung and Wong Jing produced it, and the large credited cast of forty-nine is led by Chow Yun-fat as Ken, with Nicholas Tse, Jing Tian, Kimmy Tong Fei, Chapman To and Gao Hu. It was released in early 2014 and took about 95 million US dollars worldwide.

Audience scores are modest: on IMDb it holds 4.9 out of 10 from roughly 1,900 votes, and on TMDB 5.2 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 73 votes.
