Two socially awkward high school students, a new arrival named Cassie and an outcast named Maggie, attempt to improve their social standing by winning a school talent show. Their goal is to gain the attention of the student body's most popular boys and girls. However, they face opposition from a group of popular peers, including two girls named Heather and their boyfriends Brett and Dirk, who want to keep them marginalized. The pair must rely on makeovers and musical performances to overcome their rivals.
