Children of the Corn: Revelation

Jamie Lowell grows worried when her grandmother stops answering the phone, so she travels to the small Nebraska town where the older woman lived. The apartment block she finds has been condemned and is nearly empty, apart from a few unsettling children who roam the halls. Her grandmother has vanished without a trace, and as Jamie searches for answers she comes up against a malevolent presence tied to the building and to the children themselves.

The film is the seventh entry in the Children of the Corn series and was directed by Guy Magar, following his earlier features Retribution and Stepfather 3. S.J. Smith wrote the screenplay, and Claudette Mink plays Jamie, with Kyle Cassie, Crystal Lowe, Troy Yorke, Michael J. Rogers and Sean Smith among the cast. It was produced in Canada by Dimension Films, Neo Art & Logic and Creeper Films on a budget of about three million dollars.

Released in October 2001, the film runs 82 minutes. Reception from audiences has been poor: on IMDb it holds a rating of 3.5 out of 10 from roughly 3,500 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 3.9 out of 10 from a much smaller pool of about 135 votes. The low scores across both indicate that viewers who sought it out largely found it unsatisfying.
