Gun Woman

A doctor driven by a desire for revenge sets an elaborate plan in motion. The man he wants dead, the killer of his wife, is kept under close guard, so the doctor buys a young woman with a drug problem and trains her as a weapon. His scheme depends on getting her close enough to the target to strike, and on concealing what she will need inside her own body.

The film is a Japanese action thriller from 2014, directed by Kurando Mitsutake, who also wrote the screenplay. It runs 86 minutes and was produced by Chiaki Yanagimoto, Tomokazu Koseki and Tomokazu Sato for Maxam. Asami plays Mayumi, the woman at the centre of the plan, with Kairi Narita as the man known as Mastermind. Noriaki Kamata, Matthew Floyd Miller, Dean Simone and Toshiya Agata appear in supporting roles. It was Mitsutake's first feature before his 2024 film Lion-Girl.

Audience response has been modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.8 from around 3,500 votes, and on TMDB it has 5 out of 10 from roughly 129 votes, suggesting a small viewership with mixed reactions.
