Short description
Shaun the Sheep Movie follows Shaun, a sheep living on Mossy Bottom Farm under the watchful eye of Bitzer the sheepdog and a Farmer who keeps the flock in line. Tired of the daily routine, Shaun hatches a plan to give the animals a day off by putting the Farmer to sleep. The scheme works too well: a mishap involving a caravan sends the Farmer off to the big city, where he loses his memory and wanders the streets. Shaun, the flock and Bitzer set out to bring him home, disguising themselves as people to move through a world built for humans. A ruthless animal catcher adds to their troubles.
The film was directed by Mark Burton and Richard Starzak, who also wrote the screenplay, and was produced by Paul Kewley and Julie Lockhart for Aardman with StudioCanal and Anton Capital Entertainment. Justin Fletcher voices Shaun, with John Sparkes as Bitzer and the Farmer, Omid Djalili as Trumper, and Kate Harbour, Richard Webber and Rich Webber among the voice cast. Its budget was 25 million USD, and it took 106 million USD worldwide.
On IMDb it holds 7.3/10 from 42,672 votes, and on TMDB 7/10 from 1,560 votes. A film critics' rating of 8.1/10 from 171 reviews places it higher than the audience scores.
