Nomads

A French anthropologist, Jean-Charles Pommier, settles in Los Angeles with his wife Niki after years spent on research expeditions in the north, only to find himself pursued by a gang that is not what it appears to be. The story is framed through a hospital emergency room, where a doctor named Flax treats a gravely injured man who whispers something in French before he dies, then begins to experience visions that carry her into his final days. Her investigation draws her toward what Pommier had uncovered: the existence of beings that move between worlds like nomads, and the threat they pose.

Nomads is a 1986 American drama, fantasy and thriller directed by John McTiernan, who also wrote the screenplay. It was his first feature film, preceding Predator and Die Hard. The cast includes Lesley-Anne Down as Flax, Pierce Brosnan as Pommier, Anna Maria Monticelli as Niki and Frances Bay as Bertril. Elliott Kastner, George Pappas and Cassian Elwes produced for Cinema 7 on a budget of about two million dollars.
