The Marine 2

Marine sergeant Joe Linwood and his wife Robin are on a tropical holiday, attending an exclusive party at a luxury resort. Armed attackers overrun the event and take the guests hostage, including Robin. Cut off in a foreign country with no help from local authorities, Joe draws on his military training to go after the hostage-takers himself and rescue the captives.

The film is directed by Roel Reiné, the third of the twenty-one features he has directed in chronological order, following Deadwater and preceding Death Race 2. Christopher Borrelli and John Chapin Morgan wrote the screenplay, and Michael Lake produced. Professional wrestler Ted DiBiase Jr. plays Joe Linwood, with Lara Cox as Robin. The cast also includes Michael Rooker as Church, Dom Hetrakul as Calob, Kelly B. Jones as Cynthia, and Able Wanamakok as a news reporter, among twenty-four credited cast members and fifty-two credited crew.

Released in late 2009 and running ninety-five minutes, the action film was shot as a co-production between the United States and Thailand. Audience scores are modest: on IMDb it holds a rating of 4.9 from around 6,500 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.9 from roughly 240 votes.
