Fallen Art

Fallen Art is a dark comedy set on a remote, forgotten military base in the Pacific. The story follows a group of soldiers who have lost their sanity due to the pressures of war. Among them is General A, a self-proclaimed artist who uses a disturbing form of stop-motion photography for his work. With the help of Dr. Johann Friedrich and Sergeant Al, the General creates images by dropping the bodies of deceased soldiers from a large springboard onto a concrete slab. The film explores themes of blind obedience and the absurdity of military orders.

Produced by Platige Image in Poland, this short film was directed and written by Tomek Baginski. It is the first of two films directed by Baginski, followed by Knights of the Zodiac in 2023. The voice cast features Arkadiusz Jakubik, Marcin Kudełka, and Dariusz Toczek. Since its release in September 2004, the movie has received generally positive feedback from viewers. It holds a rating of 7.6/10 on IMDb based on 4,500 votes and a 7.1/10 rating on TMDB from 116 votes.
