Home Sweet Hell

Don Champagne appears to have a successful business, a comfortable home, children, and a marriage that looks ideal from the outside. In reality, his wife Mona controls nearly every part of his life, and the couple's carefully maintained image hides how obsessive she has become. When Don begins an affair with Dusty, a young saleswoman at his company, the arrangement threatens the life Mona has worked to preserve. Rather than let it unravel, she takes matters into her own hands, setting off a chain of events that quickly slips beyond anyone's control.

Home Sweet Hell was released in 2015 and runs 98 minutes. Anthony Burns directed from a screenplay by Carlo Allen, Ted Elrick and Tom Lavagnino, with Burns producing alongside Sean McKittrick and A.J. Buckley. Katherine Heigl plays Mona and Patrick Wilson plays Don, with Jordana Brewster as Dusty, Jim Belushi as Les, and Madison Wolfe and Aiden Flowers as the couple's children. Thirty actors and 185 crew members are credited, and the production had a budget of 3 million dollars.

The film mixes comedy, crime, drama, mystery and thriller elements, and its reception was modest: on IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from around 18,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 5.4 from roughly 500. A critics' rating of 3 out of 10 from 19 reviews sits below both audience scores, suggesting reviewers responded less favorably than viewers did.
