Maniac Cop 2

Maniac Cop 2 continues the story of Matt Cordell, a police officer who was framed by corrupt superiors and killed while serving time at Sing Sing. Having survived the river where he was believed to have drowned, Cordell returns to New York and takes revenge on those he holds responsible for his death, acting as judge, jury and executioner. His path crosses with Susan Riley, a police psychologist who doubts that the killer is really gone, and with a serial killer named Turkey, whose interests briefly align with Cordell's before the two come into conflict. Detective Sean McKinney also becomes involved as the violence spreads.

The film was directed by William Lustig, his fifth feature and the second entry in the series after Maniac Cop (1988), with a screenplay by Larry Cohen, who also produced. Robert Z'Dar reprises the role of Cordell, while Robert Davi, Claudia Christian, Michael Lerner, Bruce Campbell and Laurene Landon appear among a cast of 63 credited performers, supported by 71 credited crew members. Made for about 4 million dollars, it runs 87 minutes.
