Parasyte: Part 2

Parasyte: Part 2 continues the story of Shinichi Izumi, a high school student whose body was invaded by an alien parasite that took over his right hand instead of his brain. Voiced by Migi, the parasite has become his reluctant partner, and together they hunt the other parasites that have taken control of human hosts and prey on people. Shinichi's priority is protecting those close to him, above all his classmate Satomi Murano, while the parasites themselves are divided over how to deal with him. Ryoko Tamiya, who has been raising a human child, questions whether the two species could coexist, whereas harder-line parasites see Shinichi as a threat that must be eliminated.

Takashi Yamazaki directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Ryota Kosawa. It is the eighth of the eighteen films he has directed to date, arriving between Parasyte: Part 1 and Destiny: The Tale of Kamakura. Shota Sometani returns as Shinichi, with Ai Hashimoto as Satomi, Sadao Abe as the voice of Migi, Eri Fukatsu as Ryoko, Masahiro Higashide and Nao Omori.

The film is a Japanese production released in 2015, running 117 minutes, and it earned about 13 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.5 out of 10 from roughly 3,600 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7 out of 10 from around 216 votes.
