A Dangerous Man

Shane Daniels is released from an Arizona prison after serving six years for a crime he did not commit, his freedom accompanied by an official apology. His plans to leave the country are derailed almost immediately when he witnesses a police officer being killed by members of a criminal organization. The killing leaves behind a bag of money and a terrified young girl who had been abducted, and Shane finds himself caught between corrupt police, Russian gangsters and Chinese criminals. Rather than walk away, he takes it upon himself to protect the girl and fight back against those pursuing them.

The film is directed by Keoni Waxman, who also wrote the screenplay, and it is the fourth of the fourteen films he has directed in chronological order, following The Keeper the same year and preceding Hunt to Kill in 2010. Steven Seagal plays Shane Daniels, with Mike Dopud, Byron Mann, Jesse Hutch and Marlaina Mah in supporting roles. Made for a budget of about seven million dollars, it was released in late 2009 and runs 94 minutes.

Audience response has been modest: on IMDb it holds a rating of 4.9 from roughly 5,400 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5 out of 10 from around 120 votes. Both figures point to a film that found a limited following rather than a broad one.
