Camille, a young woman who has turned away from her comfortable background and works cleaning offices at night, falls ill and is taken in by Philibert, a shy aristocrat who lives in his family's large apartment. Sharing the flat is Franck, a cook whose beloved grandmother Paulette comes to stay with them as well. The four very different people gradually learn to live under one roof, working through their disappointments and uncertainties together and finding that their shared life changes each of them. The film is an adaptation of Anna Gavalda's novel of the same name.
Claude Berri directed and wrote the screenplay, adapting Gavalda's book. It came after a long run of films he had directed, including Sex Shop, One Wild Moment, Jean de Florette, Manon of the Spring and Germinal, and Nathalie Rheims produced it. Audrey Tautou plays Camille, with Guillaume Canet as Franck, Laurent Stocker as Philibert, Françoise Bertin as Paulette, and Danièle Lebrun and Marie-France Mignal in supporting roles. The cast numbers twenty-nine.
Released in France in March 2007, the film runs ninety-seven minutes. It holds a rating of 6.7 out of 10 on IMDb from around thirteen thousand votes, and 6.5 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly four hundred and fifty votes, indicating a modest but settled reception among viewers.
