Short description
As two evil sisters prepare to conquer the land, two renegades—Eric the Huntsman, who aided Snow White in defeating Ravenna in Snowwhite and the Huntsman, and his forbidden lover, Sara—set out to stop them.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The runic inscription that briefly appears in the trailer means "I see."
  • The first trailer for the film features the song "Castle" by Halsey.
  • Chris Hemsworth, the lead actor, gained fame for his role as the Norse god Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The character played by Emily Blunt is named Freya (another name from the Scandinavian pantheon).
  • The shortlist of directors for the film, compiled by Universal Pictures, included Frank Darabont, Gavin O'Connor, and Andrés Muschietti. A contract was signed with Darabont, however, the film was ultimately directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, with Darabont simply contributing to the screenplay. Nicolas-Troyan worked on the special effects and was the second unit director on the set of "Snow White and the Huntsman" (2012).
  • The trailer states that producer Joe Roth created "Maleficent" (2014) and "Alice in Wonderland" (2010), films from Disney, while "Snow White and the Huntsman 2" is a project from Universal Pictures. All of these are feature films based on fairy tales.
  • The character of the warrior Sarah, played by Jessica Chastain, is mentioned in "Snow White and the Huntsman," where she is referred to as the huntsman's deceased wife.
