Short description

Barry is a talented mechanic and family man whose life is torn apart on the eve of a zombie apocalypse. His sister, Brooke, is kidnapped by a sinister team of gas-mask wearing soldiers & experimented on by a psychotic doctor. While Brooke plans her escape Barry goes out on the road to find her & teams up with Benny, a fellow survivor - together they must arm themselves and prepare to battle their way through hordes of flesh-eating monsters in a harsh Australian bushland.

What's left behind the scenes

The filmmakers could only work on the movie during weekends, so the project took four years to complete.
During filming, Bianca Brady's stunt double was nearly killed. She misjudged a jump onto the hood of a zombie's car, fell short, and almost ended up under the wheels.
There was no money in the film's budget for real firearms, so they had to be fashioned from carved boards and metal tubes with a piece of iron screwed on to represent the bolt mechanism.
It was originally intended that Chalker (played by Jur Kovics) would become the partner of the main character played by Jay Gallagher. A significant portion of this character's lines were given to Benny, played by Leon Burchill, and Chalker himself was 'killed off' shortly after appearing on screen because the actor playing him left the project before filming had finished.
When Chalker first arrives to see Barry (played by Jur Kovic and Jay Gallagher, respectively), he is driving a Mitsubishi Triton pickup. However, he leaves in a Toyota Hilux pickup.
Initially, it was intended that Chalker (Jur Kowicz) would be the protagonist's partner (Jay Gallagher). A significant portion of this character's lines were given to Benny (Leon Burchill), and Chalker himself was "killed off" shortly after appearing on screen, as Kowicz left the project before filming was completed.
