Cyrus Zorba, a museum guide struggling with money problems, learns that his reclusive uncle, Dr. Zorba, has died and left him a large house. Cyrus moves his family into the property, only to discover that the doctor had an interest in the supernatural and that the house comes with an unusual collection of ghosts. The family must also search the mansion for the fortune the old man is said to have hidden there, a task made harder by the ghostly residents, who are only visible through the doctor's special viewing device.
William Castle directed and produced the film for Columbia Pictures, working from a screenplay by Robb White. It followed his earlier horror productions House on Haunted Hill and The Tingler, and it sits between them and Strait-Jacket in the list of his directed features. The cast includes Donald Woods as Cyrus, Rosemary DeCamp as Hilda, Jo Morrow as Medea, Charles Herbert as Buck, Martin Milner as Ben Rush and Margaret Hamilton as Elaine Zacharides.
The film runs 85 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.1 from around 8,200 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.8 from a much smaller number of votes. A critics' rating of 4.9 from 14 reviews places it below the audience scores on IMDb.
