The Hunter's Prayer

The Hunter's Prayer is an action thriller about a professional killer, Stephen Lucas, who is hired to murder a young woman named Ella Hatto. He cannot bring himself to carry out the job, and the failed assignment turns both of them into targets. With Ella's family dead and powerful people pursuing them, the two form an uneasy partnership and set out to find those responsible while trying to stay alive.

Jonathan Mostow directed the film, which came after Surrogates (2009) in his filmography and was written by John Brancato and Michael Ferris. Sam Worthington plays Lucas and also served as a producer, with Odeya Rush as Ella; the supporting cast includes Amy Landecker, Dean S. Jagger, Verónica Echegui and Martin Compston.

The film was released in June 2017 and runs 91 minutes. It is a co-production involving Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and the United States, made for a budget of 17 million dollars. It received a 5.6 rating on IMDb from around 11,000 votes and a 5.7 on TMDB from roughly 449 votes. A smaller group of critics gave it 5 out of 10, which is in line with how general audiences rated it.
