Three American airmen survive the crash of their plane in the Pacific during the Second World War and end up crammed into a small life raft with no food, no drinking water and no way to call for help. As they try to reach distant land, they face storms, sharks and relentless sun, while the strain of sharing such a confined space gradually turns the men against one another. The story is drawn from a real incident that took place in January 1942.
Brian Falk directed and co-wrote the film with Mark David Keegan, with Mark Moran and Falk producing for The American Film Company. It was Falk's first feature as director, and its three-man structure rests on Tom Felton as Tony Pastula, Garret Dillahunt as Harold Dixon and Jake Abel as Gene Aldrich, with Nadia Parra in a supporting role. Around eighty crew members are credited on the production.
Against the Sun runs 99 minutes and was released in November 2014. It holds a 6.5 rating on IMDb from roughly 7,100 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7 out of 226 votes.
