Scooby-Doo and the gang win the last five seats in a lottery and join the maiden voyage of a space cruiser owned by billionaire Sly Baron. The weightless trip turns dangerous when a mysterious alien starts damaging the ship, forcing the crew to set down at the owner's base on the far side of the Moon. Stranded there, the group has to work out what is behind the attacks while dealing with the usual appetites and mishaps of Shaggy and Scooby.
The film is an original animated adventure from Warner Bros. Animation, directed by Paul McEvoy and written by Mark Banker, with McEvoy also producing. It followed McEvoy's earlier Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy from the previous year. The voice cast returns Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo and Fred, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Grey DeLisle as Daphne and Mindy Cohn as Velma, joined by Mark Hamill and Diedrich Bader in supporting roles. Running eighty minutes, it mixes mystery and science fiction with the series' comedy.
Audience reactions are mixed but generally positive: on IMDb it holds 6.4 out of 10 from around 2,400 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.6 from roughly 180 ratings. The higher TMDB figure comes from a much smaller group of viewers, so it reflects a more favourable sample rather than broad agreement.
