The D Train

Dan Landsman has never gotten past his high school insecurities, and with his twentieth reunion on the way, he sets out to prove that he has changed. As the head of the reunion committee, Dan flies from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles to track down Oliver Lawless, the most popular guy in their class, now a struggling actor known mainly for a national advertising campaign. Dan hopes that if Oliver attends, the other former classmates will follow. The plan works, but a wild night sends things in a direction Dan did not expect, leaving him with more than his reputation at stake.

The D Train is a comedy-drama from 2015, directed by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, who also wrote the screenplay. Jack Black stars as Dan, with James Marsden as Oliver, Kathryn Hahn as Dan's wife Stacey, and Jeffrey Tambor, Mike White and Kyle Bornheimer among the supporting cast. Black also produced alongside Barnaby Thompson and Mike White. It was made for about 3 million dollars and runs 101 minutes, with the credited cast numbering 49.

Audience scores are modest: on IMDb it sits at 5.1 from around 12,000 votes, and on TMDB at 4.9 from roughly 268 votes. The small vote counts on TMDB suggest a limited international footprint, while the larger IMDb sample points to a mainly American audience that found the film uneven.
