Sam Ellis is a federal prosecutor whose career points toward a promising political future. His comfortable life with his wife, Jeannie, begins to fracture after a single encounter with an escort develops into a compulsive habit. As Sam keeps seeking out other women, the effort to hide his double life grows harder, and the risk to his marriage and his professional standing increases. The thriller follows his attempts to manage an obsession that steadily escapes his control.
Mora Stephens directed and co-wrote the film with Joel Viertel; Marina Grasic, Mark Heyman and Joel Viertel produced it. It was Stephens's second feature as director, following her 2007 debut. Patrick Wilson plays Sam, with Lena Headey as Jeannie, Richard Dreyfuss as George Hiller, Ray Winstone as Coaker, John Cho as EJ and Dianna Agron as Dalia, among a credited cast of 22. It runs 103 minutes.
The film drew weak responses. On IMDb it holds 5.8/10 from around 8,300 votes, and on TMDB 5.5/10 from roughly 174 votes, indicating limited but not hostile audience interest. A critics' rating of 4.2/10 from 30 reviews places professional assessment below the audience scores on both platforms.
