Frank & Lola

Frank is a chef working in Las Vegas. On Halloween night he meets Lola, a newcomer to the city who hopes to build a career as a fashion designer. Despite the difference in their ages, the two begin a relationship, but Lola proves to be guarded about her past. Frank's jealousy takes hold as he learns of her involvement with other men, among them a wealthy businessman and a Swedish writer living in Paris. His suspicion hardens into obsession and sets him on a path toward revenge.

Michael Shannon and Imogen Poots lead the cast as Frank and Lola, with Rosanna Arquette, Michael Nyqvist, Justin Long and Emmanuelle Devos in supporting roles. Matthew Ross wrote and directed the film, his first feature, followed two years later by Siberia; Lars Knudsen, Christopher Ramirez and Jay Van Hoy produced. The drama, mystery and romance runs 88 minutes and was made as a co-production between the United States and France.

The film received a mixed response. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.9 out of 10 from around 6,700 votes, and on TMDB 5.6 out of 10 from roughly 194 votes, figures that point to modest and limited audience approval. A critics' rating of 6 out of 10 from 41 reviews places professional appraisal at a similar, middling level, slightly above the audience scores on both platforms.
