Short description
Phil and Kate move to Los Angeles with their newborn son, Jake, and hire a woman named Camilla to be their live-in nanny. Although she initially appears to be an ideal caregiver, Camilla hides a sinister nature. She is actually a druid who intends to sacrifice the child to an evil spirit residing in a tree.
Directed by William Friedkin, this film is the seventh of 16 movies he directed, following To Live and Die in L.A. and preceding Blue Chips. The screenplay was written by Stephen Volk, Dan Greenburg, and Friedkin. The cast features Jenny Seagrove as Camilla, Dwier Brown as Phil Sterling, and Carey Lowell as Kate Sterling, alongside Brad Hall, Miguel Ferrer, and Natalija Nogulich.
The production was handled by Universal Pictures and earned 17 million USD at the worldwide box office. On IMDb, the film has a rating of 5.4/10 based on 7,100 votes, while on TMDB it holds a 5.7/10 rating from 221 votes. Film critics gave the movie a lower score of 4.1/10 based on 12 reviews.

- There were problems with the tree created by the props department and special effects specialists, so other special effects experts were invited. The new team built a tree containing about 2,000 liters of fake blood and with removable bark.
