Short description
Unforgiven centres on William Munny, a widowed hog farmer in the American West who years earlier earned a fearsome reputation as an outlaw. Left to raise two young children on a failing farm, he is struggling for money when a young would-be gunslinger known as the Schofield Kid brings him word of a reward: the prostitutes of a distant town have pooled their savings to have two cowboys punished for disfiguring one of them. Munny, long out of practice with a gun, sets out with the Kid and his old partner Ned Logan. Their destination is Big Whiskey, where Sheriff "Little" Bill Daggett keeps order with an iron hand and has no intention of tolerating outside bounty hunters.
Clint Eastwood directed and produced the film, the sixteenth of the forty features he has directed, following White Hunter, Black Heart and preceding A Perfect World, and he leads the cast as Munny. Gene Hackman plays Daggett, Morgan Freeman plays Logan and Jaimz Woolvett plays the Schofield Kid, with Richard Harris and Saul Rubinek in supporting roles. David Webb Peoples wrote the screenplay.
Made on a budget of about 14 million dollars, the film took roughly 159 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 8.2 out of 10 from around 467,000 votes, on TMDB 7.9 from over five thousand, and a critics' rating of 9 out of 10 from 108 reviews.

As compensation, he invited her to accompany him to the Academy Awards ceremony, and upon receiving the statuette (the film won four Oscars and was nominated for five more), he thanked her in his speech.
- “Baby” Bill beat “The Englishman” Bob during the day, but the bleeding continues into the evening scene at the police station.
- During the shootout in the bar, where William goes to avenge Ned, a young deputy sheriff's blood pack explodes, but he shows no reaction to the 'gunshot wound'. It is only in the next scene that Will kills him.
