Mr. Right

Martha McKay has grown tired of picking the wrong men. After a fresh disappointment, she meets Francis at a supermarket, and he seems to be everything she has been missing: attentive, charming and romantic. What she does not know is that Francis is a former professional killer who has turned on the crime syndicate he once worked for, and that his old employers are not finished with him. As his secret surfaces and the danger closes in, Martha has to decide whether to walk away or stay with the man she has fallen for.

Sam Rockwell plays Francis opposite Anna Kendrick as Martha, with Tim Roth, James Ransone, Anson Mount and Michael Eklund among the supporting cast. The film was directed by Paco Cabezas, whose features in chronological order are Rage, this film and Goodbye, from a screenplay by Max Landis. It is an American production from Circle of Confusion, Amasia Entertainment and 3311 Productions, running 95 minutes and made for a budget of 8 million USD. Its blend of action, comedy, crime and romance drew a critics' rating of 5 out of 10 from 53 reviews, while audiences were warmer: 6.3 out of 10 on IMDb from around 65,000 votes and 6.4 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly 1,500 votes.
