Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Maze Runner: The Death Cure is a science fiction action film about Thomas and the surviving Gladers, who are no longer running from the maze but fighting the organization that put them there. As a disease called the Flare destroys what is left of civilization, Thomas leads his friends into the Last City, a walled stronghold controlled by WCKD, hoping to rescue captured companions. The mission becomes a test of loyalty, and Teresa's position between the two sides complicates the group's plans. The story continues the trilogy that began with The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials, and it is based on the novels by James Dashner.

Wes Ball directed the film, his third adaptation of Dashner's series, following The Maze Runner in 2014 and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials in 2015. T.S. Nowlin wrote the screenplay. Dylan O'Brien returns as Thomas, with Kaya Scodelario as Teresa, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt, Ki Hong Lee as Minho, Dexter Darden as Frypan and Rosa Salazar as Brenda.

Released in January 2018, the film cost about 62 million dollars and earned roughly 288 million dollars worldwide, a strong return for its budget. On IMDb it holds 6.3 out of 10 from around 190,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 7.1 out of 10 from more than 8,500 votes. A critics' rating of 5.1 out of 10 from 172 reviews places it below the audience scores, suggesting viewers responded more warmly to the conclusion of the trilogy than reviewers did.
