Short description

A single mother becomes Ariel Castro's first kidnapping victim, and finds herself trapped in his home with two other women for 11 years.

What's left behind the scenes

Initially, Michelle Knight refused to meet Raymond Castro. She had observed him and found him very similar to Ariel Castro, the criminal who had held her captive. However, Knight subsequently overcame her fear, and Knight and Castro even became friends.
The film is based on Michelle Knight's memoirs.
Filming took place in Cleveland, Ohio, where the abductions originally occurred.
