Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps is a crime drama set during the financial crisis of 2008. Gordon Gekko, who spent about two decades in prison for insider trading, returns to a financial world he no longer dominates. Jake Moore, a young trader whose mentor is ruined by market rumours, seeks Gekko's help in finding out who was responsible. Gekko also wants to rebuild his relationship with his daughter Winnie, who is Jake's partner. The film is a sequel to Wall Street (1987) and continues Gekko's story roughly 20 years later.

Oliver Stone directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Allan Loeb and Stephen Schiff, and produced it with Edward R. Pressman and Eric Kopeloff. It is the seventeenth of the twenty-two films Stone has directed in chronological order, following W. (2008) and preceding Savages (2012). Michael Douglas returns as Gordon Gekko, with Shia LaBeouf as Jacob Moore, Josh Brolin as Bretton James, Carey Mulligan as Winnie Gekko, Frank Langella as Lewis Zabel and Susan Sarandon as Sylvia Moore.

Released in 2010, the film runs 133 minutes. It was made on a budget of 70 million US dollars and earned about 135 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.2 out of 10 from around 110,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.1 out of 10 from 1,739 votes. A critics' score of 5.9 out of 10 from 232 reviews is close to the audience ratings, so viewers and reviewers responded similarly.
