Short description
As the global economy teeters on the brink of disaster, a young Wall Street trader partners with disgraced former Wall Street corporate raider Gordon Gekko on a two tiered mission: To alert the financial community to the coming doom, and to find out who was responsible for the death of the young trader's mentor.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Shia LaBeouf's character has a ringtone from the film "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" (1966), in which Eli Wallach played one of the main roles, and also appears in this film.
  • The scene showing a Zurich street was filmed in Prague.
  • “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” (2010) is the first sequel directed by Oliver Stone.
  • There is a 23-year gap between the original film and the sequel.
  • The film was shot in 58 days, approximately the same amount of time it took to film the first movie.
  • Oliver Stone's son, Sean Stone, is appearing in his father's film for the twelfth time. He was cast in the role of a hedge fund trader.
  • Gordon Gekko is released on October 22, 2001.
  • Original songs for the film were written and performed by David Byrne and Brian Eno.
  • While preparing for filming, Shia LaBeouf spent a lot of time talking to traders and specialists in finance and economics. He even invested $20,000 in stocks and earned $400,000. After some time, several of the specialists the actor had been talking to were arrested for fraud.
  • Shia LaBeouf became so interested in trading that he began to study it seriously and even obtained a broker's license.
  • Donald Trump made a cameo appearance, but the scenes with him were not included in the film because director and producer Oliver Stone believed they would "distract" the audience.
  • Shia LaBeouf's ringtone is a melody from the film 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' (1966), in which Eli Wallach played one of the main roles, and also appeared in this film.
