High school student Mitsuko is the only survivor when an inexplicable force tears her school bus in half during a field trip, killing her classmates. She escapes to her school, only to find those same classmates alive and unharmed, and the attack begins again in a different place and form. Mitsuko keeps moving between shifting versions of reality, each one ending in slaughter, while she struggles to understand who or what is pursuing her and how to break the cycle.

This 2015 Japanese production was directed and written by Sion Sono, the fourteenth of the nineteen films he has directed and the one that followed Tokyo Tribe, with The Virgin Psychics coming next. Reina Triendl leads as Mitsuko, alongside Mariko Shinoda, Erina Mano, Yuki Sakurai, Aki Hiraoka and Ami Tomite among twenty credited cast members. Made on a budget of about one million dollars, the film blends action, drama, fantasy, horror and science fiction.
