Jenny's Wedding

Jenny Farrell has kept her relationship with Kitty hidden from her parents for years, letting them believe Kitty is simply her roommate. Now Jenny wants to marry Kitty, and the truth has to come out. Her family, the Farrells, are set in their ways, and the news lands badly. Her father Eddie, a firefighter, is embarrassed; her mother Rose pulls away; her sister Anne feels shut out of a life her sister kept secret. The family has to decide whether to accept Jenny as she is or hold on to the life they expected for her.

The film is a comedy-drama written and directed by Mary Agnes Donoghue, whose only earlier feature as director was Paradise in 1991. Katherine Heigl plays Jenny, with Tom Wilkinson and Linda Emond as her parents, Grace Gummer as Anne and Alexis Bledel as Kitty. It was produced by Gail Levin, Michelle Manning and Donoghue, and runs 94 minutes.

On IMDb the film holds a 4.3 out of 10 from 16 critics' reviews, while on TMDB it sits at 5.7 out of 10 from around 440 votes, a wider and somewhat kinder response from general viewers than from reviewers. Jenny's Wedding was released in the United States on 31 July 2015.
