Most Wanted

Most Wanted is an action thriller about Gunnery Sergeant James Dunn, a Marine sniper whose refusal to follow an order during the Gulf War leads to a death sentence. Days before his execution he is taken from custody by a shadowy military officer, who offers him freedom in exchange for joining a secret operations unit. The assignment is to kill Donald Bickhart, an industrialist suspected of trafficking in biological weapons, at a public event. When the shooting starts, the First Lady is killed instead, and Dunn realizes the operation was designed to frame him as the lone gunman. Rather than accept the role, he goes on the run and begins his own investigation, with help from a hospital doctor who captured part of the scene on video.

The film was directed by David Hogan, following his 1996 feature Barb Wire, from a screenplay by Keenen Ivory Wayans, who also plays Dunn. Jon Voight appears as the officer behind the unit, with Jill Hennessy, Paul Sorvino, Eric Roberts and Robert Culp in supporting roles. It was produced by Eric L. Gold for New Line Cinema and Ivory Way Productions.

Released in October 1997, the film runs 99 minutes. Against a budget of about 25 million dollars, it returned roughly 12 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds an audience rating of 5.4 from 119 votes, while a critics' score of 3.5 from 26 reviews places it lower still.
