Half Magic is a 2018 American comedy about three women who form a bond after discovering they have all been involved with the same man. Rather than turning on each other, Honey, Eva and Candy direct their frustration outward, supporting one another as they push back against sexism, unsatisfying relationships and their own self-doubt. What begins as shared anger develops into a friendship that encourages each of them to pursue more adventurous and fulfilling lives.
The film was written and directed by Heather Graham, who also stars as Honey. It was her first time directing a feature, and it came several years before her second film as director, Chosen Family. The cast includes Angela Kinsey as Eva, Stephanie Beatriz as Candy, Jason Lewis as Mark, Thomas Lennon as Darren and Chris D'Elia as Peter Brock. Jonathan Sheinberg, Sid Sheinberg and Bill Sheinberg served as producers.
Half Magic runs 94 minutes and was released on February 23, 2018. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 10 from around 1,600 votes, while on TMDB it has a rating of 5.3 out of 10 from roughly 47 votes. The film mixes comedy and romance around a story of three women who find common ground through a shared disappointment and turn it into something more constructive.
