Scottish Mussel

Ritchie is a man from Glasgow with few prospects who moves to the Scottish Highlands to make money through illegal pearl fishing. He secures a job at a conservation centre to facilitate his scheme with the help of two clumsy friends. While there, he falls in love with Beth, an English conservationist dedicated to protecting endangered mussels from the very type of theft Ritchie is pursuing. As he competes for her affection against an American ranger, his illegal activities attract the attention of a mobster from his hometown. Ultimately, Ritchie must decide between his greed and his desire to prevent an ecological disaster and win Beth's heart.

The comedy was directed and written by Talulah Riley, who also stars as Beth. The cast includes Martin Compston in the lead role as Ritchie, alongside Paul Brannigan, Joe Thomas, Morgan Watkins, and Harry Enfield.
