In the supernatural town of Kingfisher, where ghosts and humans coexist, a string of murders targeting pizza delivery drivers creates widespread alarm. The investigation involves a local journalist, the police, and Astrid, a friend of one of the victims. Suspicion falls on various figures, including a drug dealer, a ghost, and Dax, a disgraced werewolf who has recently returned to the area. The plot links these current events to a previous series of unsolved killings involving food couriers from a Chinese restaurant that once occupied the same location.
