The Losers

The Losers follows an elite Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a mission that turns out to be a setup. Betrayed from within by a man known only as Max, the team is presumed dead. Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar use that assumption to go underground and plan their revenge, eventually joined by Aisha, a mysterious operative with her own agenda and considerable skills of her own. Their pursuit of Max, who is difficult to track and well protected, becomes a fight to clear their names and settle the score. The film is based on the DC Vertigo comic series.

Sylvain White directed, working from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Peter Berg. It was White's third feature, following I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer in 2006 and Stomp the Yard in 2007. Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays Clay, with Zoe Saldaña as Aisha, Chris Evans as Jensen, Idris Elba as Roque, Columbus Short as Pooch and Óscar Jaenada as Cougar. Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster produced for Warner Bros., Weed Road Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment.

Released in April 2010, the film had a budget of about 25 million dollars and took roughly 24 million worldwide, so it did not recover its costs at the box office. On IMDb it holds 6.2 out of 10 from about 111,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.3 out of 10 from around 2,000 votes. A critics' rating of 5.3 out of 10 from 166 reviews places it below the audience scores.
