Confirmation dramatizes the 1991 Senate hearings on Clarence Thomas's nomination to the United States Supreme Court, which were thrown into turmoil when Anita Hill, a law professor who had worked for him, testified that he had sexually harassed her years earlier. The televised proceedings gripped the country and turned a confirmation vote into a national argument about harassment in the workplace.

Rick Famuyiwa directs from a screenplay by Susannah Grant. The film came sixth in the director's feature chronology, arriving after Dope in 2015 and before Ugo: A Homecoming Story in 2024. Kerry Washington plays Anita Hill and Wendell Pierce plays Clarence Thomas, with Greg Kinnear as Joe Biden, Jeffrey Wright as Charles Ogletree, Eric Stonestreet as Ken Duberstein and Zoe Lister-Jones as Carolyn Hart among a credited cast of 27. The film runs 110 minutes.

Made for television by HBO Films with Groundswell Productions, Simpson Street and ABC Signature, the film was released in April 2016, some twenty-five years after the events it depicts.
