Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Three years after the fall of the Jurassic World theme park, Isla Nublar lies abandoned, its surviving dinosaurs roaming free. When the island's long-dormant volcano stirs back to life, former park manager Claire Dearing launches an effort to bring the animals off the island before the eruption wipes them out. She turns to Owen Grady, the raptor trainer, for help, and the two return to the island with a rescue team. The operation grows more complicated than a straightforward evacuation, and the group uncovers a scheme whose consequences reach well beyond the island.

J. A. Bayona directed the film, the fifth in the Jurassic Park series, from a screenplay by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. It followed Bayona's earlier features The Orphanage, The Impossible, Nine Days in Haiti and A Monster Calls, and came before Society of the Snow. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard lead the cast as Owen and Claire, joined by Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda and James Cromwell among 44 credited cast members.

Backed by a reported 170 million dollar budget, the film took about 1.31 billion dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.1 out of 10 from roughly 379,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.5 out of 10 from about 13,000 votes. A critics' rating of 5.5 out of 10 from 430 reviews places it somewhat below the audience scores.
