Harmony

In a future society, advanced medical nanotechnology and strict social ethics are used to maintain a state of utopia. This system monitors health and behavior to prevent crime and illness. In an act of rebellion against this total control, three girls attempt a collective suicide, though they are unsuccessful. Years later, one of the survivors, Tuan Kirie, works for the World Health Organization. When a new crisis threatens the global stability of this artificial paradise, Tuan must investigate the threat and confront her own past.

Directed by Michael Arias and Takashi Nakamura, this animated science fiction thriller is the second film directed by Arias following Tekkonkinkreet. The screenplay was written by Koji Yamamoto. The voice cast features Miyuki Sawashiro as Tuan Kirie, Reina Ueda as Miach Mihie, and Aya Suzaki as Cian Reikado, with additional roles played by Yoshiko Sakakibara, Shin-ichiro Miki, and Cho. The production involved companies such as TOHO, Aniplex, dentsu, and the Fuji Television Network.
