Top Dog

Set in San Diego, this action comedy follows Jake Wilder, a determined police officer investigating the murder of his colleague, Lou Swanson. After Swanson is killed by a criminal organization, Wilder is paired with Reno, a police dog who previously worked with his fallen partner. Despite an initial lack of trust and Wilder's reluctance to work with an animal, the two form an unlikely partnership to stop a group of dangerous criminals and halt arms smuggling.

Directed by Aaron Norris, this was the fifth film he directed, following Hellbound and preceding Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire. The movie stars Chuck Norris as Jake Wilder, alongside Michele Lamar Richards, Clyde Kusatsu, and Carmine Caridi. Produced by Don Behrns, Jackie Dagan, and Andy Howard, the film was written by Ron Swanson.

Financially, the production did not recover its costs, as the 6 million USD budget exceeded the 5 million USD earned at the worldwide box office. The film has received poor ratings from both viewers and reviewers. It holds a 4.3/10 on IMDb from 4,100 votes and a 4.3/10 on TMDB from 118 votes. These audience scores are slightly higher than the rating from film critics, which stands at 3/10 based on 9 reviews.
