Short description
Kate Armstrong is a perfectionist chef in Manhattan who manages her kitchen with strict intensity. Her structured life is disrupted when she becomes the legal guardian of her young niece following a family tragedy. While struggling to adapt to motherhood, Kate also clashes with Nick Palmer, a confident new colleague whose relaxed approach to cooking contrasts with her own. As their professional rivalry evolves into a romantic relationship, Kate must learn to balance her career with her emotional life to find happiness and bond with her niece.

What's left behind the scenes
- To better prepare for her role, Catherine Zeta-Jones worked as a waitress for one evening at the prestigious New York restaurant Fiamma Osteria. Many patrons noticed her and were surprised at how much the waitress resembled the famous actress, to which she replied, "I'm told that all the time."
- At the very end of the film, you can spot Philip Glass, the composer who wrote the music for it, sitting at one of the tables set up outside the bistro.
