Anna is a professional with a stable career and a steady relationship with her partner, Alessio, with whom she has considered starting a family. Her structured life changes when she meets Domenico, sparking an intense romantic affair driven by passion and desire. However, the relationship is complicated by the fact that Domenico is married with two children, forcing the couple to rely on secrecy and brief, clandestine encounters. As the affair progresses, Anna begins to desire more from the relationship than these limited moments.

Directed by Silvio Soldini, this romantic drama was the first of two films listed in his career, preceding The Tasters.
