2.0

2.0 is an Indian science fiction action film about a threat to the world's mobile phones. A winged figure who was once an ornithologist takes revenge on humanity for the harm that mobile phone radiation does to birds, and he turns the devices people depend on into a weapon against them. The only force capable of standing against him is Chitti, the robot created by Dr. Vaseegaran, who is brought back in an upgraded form known as 2.0, alongside a newer android named Nila. The film is a sequel to Enthiran, with Rajinikanth again playing the scientist and his robotic creation, while Akshay Kumar appears as the antagonist Pakshi Rajan.

Shankar directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Jeyamohan, and the film sits between Enthiran and his later Indian 2: Zero Tolerance and Game Changer in his filmography. It was produced by Subaskaran Allirajah and Raju Mahalingam for Lyca Productions. The cast includes Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain and Kalabhavan Shajon.

Released in November 2018 and running 149 minutes, the film had a budget of about 77 million dollars and earned roughly 115 million dollars worldwide, a strong return on its cost.
