Open Season: Scared Silly

In the fourth film of the Open Season series, a campfire tale gets out of hand. Elliot, the talkative deer, tells his friends about a monstrous werewolf said to haunt the Timberline forest, and the story leaves Boog, the domesticated grizzly, genuinely frightened. The former hunter Shaw seizes on the panic, using the rumors as a reason to reopen hunting season. To put a permanent stop to it, Boog, Elliot and Mr. Weenie set out to track down the creature and confront their own fears along the way.

The film was directed by David Feiss, the first of the two features listed for him, followed years later by Hitpig! Carlos Kotkin wrote the screenplay and John Bush produced it, with a voice cast led by William Townsend, Donny Lucas, Melissa Sturm, Garry Chalk, Kathleen Barr and Trevor Devall. It was made by Sony Pictures Animation with Rainmaker Entertainment and released directly by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Open Season: Scared Silly runs 84 minutes and arrived in December 2015. It took in roughly 2 million dollars worldwide, a modest figure consistent with a home-viewing release rather than a theatrical run. On IMDb it holds a 5 out of 10 from about 4,600 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.9 out of 10 from around 397 votes, so the two audiences are broadly in step, with the smaller TMDB group somewhat warmer.
